Waken is an incredibly powerful effect. Easy as pie and as smooth as silk. Us old timers used the Cobra deck. That is like comparing chop meat to a Porterhouse steak. Now instead of cutting to one card you can have the deck cut to four different cards, and in four different directions. That is strong! I love this trick so much that I feel compelled to offer this suggestion. While you can place a glass or glass dome over it if you choose to, consider this. It’s so strong that by placing the dome over it, you remove all other possibilities. You don’t want to put the attention on the deck. Let the audience put the attention on you. Let them think it’s magnets or wire or thread. First thing they will do is start passing their hand between me and the table and deck. They come up with nothing. They look under the table, check under the table cloth. Nothing. By that time you can so casually switch for a real deck in your pocket. If you use a dome, the deck will be the first place the mind will go to. Let this effect speak for itself. It needs no extra proof to make it truly amazing. Don’t worry if you don’t like switching. They’ll be so distracted looking for strings and wires that you could read a newspaper in between changing out the deck. You are going to do this effect often. Steve R.
