When your spectators are thinking you are going to do some "procedure" to know their freely selected, thought of song, you snap your fingers, and it starts playing on your phone.
Here's what happens:
You give them a deck of cards with three songs per card, from the last 53 years. They have a free choice to think of any song from a whopping total of 159!
They simply remember it and loose the card back in the deck. No funny moves or controls happen.
You pretend to have an invisible cassette tape in which you write the year they are thinking of. But they never name it.
That's all. You place your phone in their hands, snap your fingers and their chosen song starts playing.

What people are saying
Music Madness is super cool! It even makes me look cool. And thats saying something. It is actually very easy to perform. There is however a very common complaint about it, that I would have to agree with. But it’s very easy to get around it. The marks on the cards are very difficult to read. I know from magicians I know and those online all pretty much think even with practice these marks can botch the trick. I was going to down grade Music Madness to three stars. But I am still going to give it five because it is easy enough to rectify and it won’t take away from the strength of the effect. The font that is used is hard to see with even a little distance from the spectator. 1’s and 7’ and 6’s are difficult to distinguish. 4’s look like something on the wall of an Aztec temple. Some are not too bad. I pray they’ll choose card 33, that one is easy. But about half just can’t be read in a couple of seconds. You need a good 4-5 seconds, or at least I do to really read the mark. So here’s what ya do. And I’ll take as long as I need to do it. The effect comes with a card that has a cassette tape pictured on it and a card that is blank if you want to do a vanish. I would scrap that. I use the card with the pic of the tape as my out. I leave it face down under the box or wherever you like. If they choose a card that I am going to need more time to see, then I ask my spectator to hold out their hand, palm up and place the chosen card face down right in front of us both. I take my hand palm down and place it on top. The hand sandwich bit. I explain that if he or she concentrates on the song in their mind, together we are making a cassette player with our hands. I can start to even explain this once the card is on their palm and take all the time I need to look at the card. You also have a reason to have you both concentrate looking down at the card on the palm. After you have it and you are done with that patter just have the card put into the deck, you’re done with the card. It’s not a bad bit even if I can easily see the card. You know transferring her mind and thoughts because we are both connected. I mention all of this because if you look at other reviews I’m sure you’ll hear the cards are hard to read. I don’t think that should scare someone away from purchasing this really great effect. And I’m going to add that in the future when magicians create an effect and need a marking system. That they are completely paranoid about marking a deck. And others are paranoid when performing with them. Trust me on this, lay people do not equate marked cards with your magic. It doesn’t even enter their minds. They think of marked cards and think crooked gambling. To non magicians it’s some antiquated thing from the days of the Wild West. You know….one cowboy says to the big winner playing in a saloon, “ Hey partner I reckon these cards are marked!” When people see magic and cards vanish or change or wind up somewhere else or a baffling revelation like Music Madness they aren’t thing marked cards. It just doesn’t add up to them. They don’t even know where you are actually going. Your cell has yet to even been introduced at that point. There is just too much going on for them to even back into it. So I hope we stop trying to make microscopic marks that we can’t even see. It’s not necessary. They are not looking for marks so they are not going to see them. I hope you will purchase Music Madness! You’ll be really happy performing it if you do. It is really a brilliant idea and you won’t be disappointed. Steve R
Hi Steve, Thank you for this review! This will be very helpful for people especially people concerned about the marks. Your solution is great! I love the making a cassette player idea. What I love about this trick is the ability for music to put you in a place and time in your past. It can trigger thoughts and feelings in your brain. Exploring that can lead to great source material for expanding your routine. Music is powerful! - Ron Teitelbaum
