What is the Magic Square?
The Magic Square is the effect that makes you feel like Albert Einstein. If you've never performed it before then you are missing out. It is a truly mind-blowing mathematical phenomenon, yet you don't even need to be good at adding up - your audience can add up the numbers for you.

EDC Squared is based on versions from many years back, often called the Magic Square. This is by far the best version I’ve ever seen. This effect is amazing and mind boggling. It requires no complicated arithmetic to perform and there are no slights. Some magicians avoid effects that scream math formula. If you are wiling to give it a magical presentation, your audience won’t know what to make of it. This really will keep them up all night. Don’t look at this as a numbers are dull and boring. Actually numbers are very mystical and lend themselves to a lot of mystery and story telling. It’s a wonderful effect if you choose to do a straight forward approach. I go with a Mayan Indian patter. I call the effect the Nochipa number. You are welcome to use any of this if you like. But just an example. Once you tell a spectator that you are going to find their Nochipa number, a word from the Mayan language that means eternal. This is the number you have carried with you throughout your life. If we did this effect ten years ago, you would pick the same number you are going to select tonight. I will show you.
So you get the idea. Just give it a little mystic and they will remember this trick and you for a very long time. And they get a great souvenir if you choose. Have them put their number on your business card. Loads of possibilities. So easy. So baffling. So get it! Have fun. Steve R
