You take a sharpie and draw a black spot onto a sticky note pad making a black hole. You then take the same sharpie and push it into the black hole until it completely vanishes. The black hole can now be peeled off the pad and given away as a souvenir.

And since so many effects that we do use a sharpie, it’s great when a trick can link to another part of your performance. Let’s face it, we do use Sharpies quite a bit. It’s perfect to tell your audience at some point, “I promise you won’t have to use this Sharpie anymore tonight. As a matter of fact you will never see it again, as I am drawing a black hole on this pad.” “ It will never come back…it’s a Sharpie and it’s permanent.” As long as we have to use it so much, might as well have some fun with it!
